William Barge, M.S., M.D.

About
Nashville native, Dr. William Barge, received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He then went on to receive his Masters of Science in Pharmacology at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Dr. Barge earned his medical degree at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident, and his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Barge is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.
 
His interests include all aspects of digestive health, including hepatobiliary disorders and hepatology. Dr. Barge is a member of both the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). He has presented numerous poster and oral presentations at national GI conferences, and has had his research published in many well-recognized gastrointestinal journals, including "Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and Endoscopy."
 
In his free time, Dr. Barge enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. His other hobbies include fishing, playing guitar, medical education and Italian cooking/pasta-making.
