About

Dr. Subir Prasad grew up in Oxford, Mississippi, where his father was on the faculty of the University of Mississippi. He attended Ole Miss, earning his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering. After a brief career as a consulting engineer for Federal Express and Texas Instruments, he attended medical school at the University of Tennessee and completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.

He returned to Memphis to practice and teach at the UT College of Medicine from 1999-2003 and came back to Nashville in 2004 to work with Saint Thomas Neurology Group. He is board certified in both Neurology and Vascular Neurology and is a clinical assistant professor of neurology at Vanderbilt. While away from the hospital and office, Dr. Prasad is an avid outdoor griller, jazz music fan and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
