A native of Lawrenceburg, Dr. Crowder is married and the father of two children, a son and a daughter. He received his B.S. degree in biology from David Lipscomb University, and received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis before completing his postgraduate training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Dr. Crowder is a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, a member of the Tennessee Medical Association, and the Nashville Academy of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
