Primary Care – Adult
The Department of Adult Primary Care specializes in the medical care of the adult patient with an emphasis on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. The physicians in this department are commonly referred to as “Primary Care Providers” (PCP) and are board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
Our physicians are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings – no matter how common or rare. Primary care entails a broad spectrum of medical management from minor to acute illness to the management of more complex and chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, elevated cholesterol). However, our main focus is on preventive care to foster a healthy patient.
Caring for You for Life
In today’s complex medical environment, our doctors take pride in caring for their patients for life. Our doctors focus on the whole patient, both physically and emotionally and coordinate their care to promote health, disease prevention, mental health and an active and fulfilling life.
The services we offer include preventive “well” checks, immunizations, screening for underlying health problems, treatment of acute illnesses or injuries, diagnosis of complex problems, and management of chronic conditions and illnesses. The physicians and their staff are focused on the coordination of care with patients and their families, offering not just medical services but support and education in all aspects of our patients’ health. We provide care in our office location as well as managing hospitalizations and working with other medical specialists as needed.
