Physician - Dermatology

Dr. Kelsie Riemenschneider is an expert in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She grew up in Georgia and graduated with highest honors on a full-tuition scholarship from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She earned her Bachelor of Science in biomedical engineering and her minor in Spanish. She conducted years of clinical research and tissue engineering lab research as an Honors Program student. She then attended Vanderbilt University School of Medicine where she graduated with top honors as an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She performed melanoma lab research and skin cancer clinical research with the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Dr. Riemenschneider stayed in Nashville to complete her internal medicine internship at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She then completed dermatology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, which is regarded as one of the nation’s most elite dermatology programs. She cared for patients in high-volume inpatient and outpatient settings at UT Southwestern, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Children’s Medical Center Dallas, and the VA North Texas Healthcare System.

Dr. Riemenschneider is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). She works hard to help her patients not only through individualized care, but also through advancing the field of dermatology. She has published numerous peer-reviewed studies in national research journals and given dozens of presentations at national and international academy meetings, research conferences, and grand rounds. She is also committed to mentoring medical students and volunteering with free clinics. She is fluent in Spanish. Her active memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Women’s Dermatologic Society.

Dr. Riemenschneider joined Heritage Medical Associates from private practice in Illinois. She is thrilled to call the wonderful Nashville community home again and to have the privilege of serving it as a dermatologist. Outside of medicine, she enjoys weight training, running, hiking, practicing yoga, reading for book clubs, working the NYT crossword, and spending quality time with friends.

Having trained with one of the most diverse patient populations in the country, Dr. Riemenschneider is empowered to effectively care for patients of all backgrounds. Each of us has unique factors that influence our skin health, how skin diseases manifest, and how we best care for our skin, from age or ethnicity to environmental exposures. She welcomes all patients to her practice and believes that everyone can benefit from having a board-certified dermatologist by their side.
