A practicing gastroenterologist in Nashville for 30 years, Dr. Shull is also a former member of the Administrative Board for West End United Methodist Church and a former member of the board of the Nashville YMCA. He and his wife Cathy have 3 children. He completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University and his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee.
He completed Internship and Residency training, as well as a Gastroenterology Fellowship, at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Dr. Shull served as Major in the U.S. Army, 97th Hospital in Frankfurt, Germany, and is a recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, he is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases, and the American Gastroenterological Association. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
He has served as President of the Tennessee Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
