About

Dr. Cheryl Fassler was born and raised in southwestern Ohio and received her undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame. She received her MD degree, cum laude, from The Ohio State University where she was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Following her internship and residency in internal medicine at Indiana and Vanderbilt Universities, she completed her fellowship in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Virginia. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism.

For nearly 27 years, Dr. Fassler served on the faculty of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center internal medicine residency program at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital (formerly Baptist Hospital) where she rose to associate professor of medicine and clerkship director for medical students and formerly served as program director for the residency program.

Dr. Fassler is a member of the American Thyroid Association and the Endocrine Society and serves on their committees. She is also a member of AACE, ACP, AMA, TMA and Nashville Academy of Medicine. Besides the practice of endocrinology and metabolism, with a special interest in thyroid diseases, she also enjoys spending time with her daughter.
