About

Dr. McGinley is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. He grew up in Clinton, Tennessee, in the foothills of the Smokies. He graduated with honors from Harvard College prior to attending Emory Medical School where he also completed his internship in Medicine and Pediatrics.

Dr. McGinley served in the U.S. Public Health Service in Centerville, Tennessee and remained there in private practice before completing his training at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga and Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Jim’s wife, Sarah, directs the 3-5 year-old choir, which Jim accompanies at the Franklin First United Methodist Church.

Jim also plays in the Grateful Bluegrass Band for the 8:30 service on occasional Sunday mornings. They have 4 children, and both enjoy running in local road races. Jim reports that it is a particular privilege to care for some of the same patients for more than 30 years.
