About

A native of St. Charles, Missouri, Dr. Jones has many interests, most of which he shares with his wife and twin sons. An enthusiastic traveler, his preferred style of activity is definitely in the open air. He is an avid hiker who has trekked in many places both in the United States and abroad. This includes many trails in the Appalachian Mountains, both the North and South Rims of the Grand Canyon, and sections of the AT, Mt. Rainer, Kalalau Trail, El Camino del Rey, and The Great Ocean Walk.

Whether he is exploring the beauty of nature or roaming an ancient city such as Rome, his preferred method of travel is by foot. Still on his bucket list; hiking to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro and to the base camp of Mt. Everest. He also enjoys road biking and is an accomplished scuba diver having dove the Great Barrier Reef , Hawaii, the Cenotes in Mexico, and much of the Caribbean. Dr. Jones practices the active lifestyle that he promotes to his patients.

After completing his undergraduate degree from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, and a Pharmacy degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Jones embarked on his medical career. Following his graduation in 1986 from the University of Alabama, School of Medicine in Birmingham, he performed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine through the University of Tennessee here at Nashville’s Baptist Hospital. Upon completion of his residency, he served as Chief Resident. In private practice since 1990, he is board-certified by the American College of Internal Medicine.

He is one of the founding members and past presidents of Heritage Medical Associates. Throughout his career, Dr. Jones has been a mentor and educator of medical students and young doctors. Having served on numerous boards in the Nashville area over the years, he is currently the President/Chairman of the Board of Synergy IPA which is an Independent Physicians Association. He is a member of Harpeth Hills Church of Christ.

In an effort to better serve his patient’s needs, Dr. Jones affiliated with MDVIP in October of 2011. This model of healthcare has allowed him the ability to maintain an exceedingly high level of care with a much more comprehensive and personalized approach.
