Dr. Dykstra started her practice in the Nashville area in the fall of 2001 and joined Heritage Medical Associates in August 2009. She is from Griffin, GA and received her undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi with a major in Biology. She returned to Georgia for medical school at the Medical College of Georgia and completed her Pediatric residency training at Vanderbilt in 2001.

Dr. Dykstra is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of the clinical staff at the Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, St. Thomas Midtown Hospital (formerly Baptist Hospital), Women's and Children's Hospital at Centennial Medical Center and Williamson Medical Center. Dr. Dykstra and her husband, Jay, have two children: Jake (April 2003) and Madison (March 2006). They are members of Christ Presbyterian Church and she enjoys a variety of sports with her children, cooking and fitness.
